Proven And Tested Carp Fishing Bait

If you're serious about landing a big one, then you need a proven and tested carp fishing bait. Bringing in one of these big fighters can be a thrill you never forget. People fish for them all the time just for that reason. They aren't popular for eating and most people shy away from it. But some people know that if you cut out the mud-line, which is an orange line down either side of the meat, you can eat a carp.

Over the years in the little town where I grew up, fishing was part of our lifestyle. It gave us something to do and kept us out of trouble. So we learned a lot about it since we were all very competitive. Landing the biggest carp was always a fun challenge and gave us many days of good memories out fishing with our friends. One of the things we always had fun with, was finding the best baits to use to beat the other guys. I have three main baits that are proven to be successful for catching carp.

The first one of these, is commonly known around here as a 'dough ball'. We make these by submerging a cake of Shredded Wheat cereal in water, and then molding and shaping it in our hands until we have a round or oblong ball. Then we sink the hook into the center until it's totally covered, and cast it out as far as we can throw it. You may have to water it down a couple of times to get it to the right texture. You want it to hold its shape. If you happen to be chewing tobacco, spit some on your dough ball.

There are some carp fishing bait secrets, at least we always considered them secrets, that can really up your game. Everybody knows that worms are good fish bait, but me and my friends also know that not all worms work the same way for all fish. You have red-worms, wigglers, stripers, and night crawlers, all of which are good bait. But for reeling in the big carp, nothing grabs them like green-worms. These are dug on the riverbank in the dark mud that looks like big cracked slabs. Carp just can't resist them.

For many years carp fishing was a favorite activity around my hometown. It's really a thrill to hook one of these big fighters and land him on the bank. The average size we usually catch are from six up to twenty pounds, but there have been some thirty pounders caught now and then. They grow to be very big and give you a fight that you won't soon forget. I have a lot of good memories from carp fishing that I wouldn't trade for anything.

The third bait is nothing more than canned corn from the supermarket. You just load a kernel at a time on the hook until it's covered. It can be a challenge to get one to stay on and cover the end of your hook, but it CAN be done. I can't tell you how many carp have been caught on corn. I can personally vouch for all three of these carp baits because I've used them since I was a small boy and had great success with them.

Now that you know some good carp fishing bait, then you need to get out there and test them for yourself. I'm sure you're going to find that what I've said holds true. Carp have a real hard time resisting these three baits, and you'll have a hard time resisting using them often once you give them a try. So good luck, and hope you catch some big ones
